My son has a 1997 SL2 with 69,000 miles on it. everything is working good,however yesterday when he came home he said that the cars' door chime is going off whenever he opens the door and will continue to chime until the door is closed. This is new and didn't happen before. I check water, oil, fuses etc.and all are good. I know I could remove the fuse to disable the chimes but i would perfer not to. This only occurs on the drivers side. Is there anyway to disarm the door chimes that will not effect the other chime systems. Thanks for any help. Tom

Its either the ignition switch or the chime module. My guess is on the ignition switch. It still thinks the keys are in the ignition and sets the warning chime.

i have the same problem with my 95 sl1... its the ignition swith sticking.. when you pull the key out the switch is supose to pop out a little and sometimes doesnt.. if you put the key back in and pull it out it should pop back out.. try lubricating it with some wd-40 or something simmilar... good luck. and the reason it only hapens on the drivers door is its only set to come on when the drivers door is opend and the key is on or the lights are on...

I think every Saturn I've owned has done this. And I've owned a lot.
