changing cat conv on 95 SW2

hi all

new to this forum today. i need to change the cat conv on my 95 sw2. did so about 10 years ago. but this time it didn't rattle, just went right to the melt-down phase (the exhaust note sounds constrained).

i found the part online and it looks like a bolt-off and bolt-on procedure. is it that simple?? someone else on the forum said autozone can get it, will stop by there.

have any of you done this procedure before? is it a home garage project?

i am mechanical with average depth of tools, no pipe cutting or hammer jack equipment though.

the dealer wants a grand, but the part's like 126. tough year so if i can do it i will. other wise will go to local gas station.

thank you much in advance!
tom

Pretty easy, although a sawzall is a definite plus. A couple of swedge tools to expand the pipe so one will fit inside the other is a good idea too. Usually, you can rent such devices from the local AutoZone -- ask them about it when you order your part

take care.
