Default A/C system Component Torque Values

RE: 2001 Saturn SL1 1.9L SOHC

Hi, I am replacing the A/C system with a UAC Compressor and Component kit from Rock Auto; the Compressor, Condenser, Dryer, Expansion Valve, and hoses.
What are the torque values to install these items? I have not seen any values except compressor to bracket. I know that one.

Did it mention the torque specs you were looking for? I need the torque spec for a a/c pressure switch on an 07 Saturn Ion-2 2.2

Holy crap man, good luck. I am doing this same project to my 97 SL1 soon. The compressor under the hood is original. My friend and I charged the system once with UV dye and when we turned on the blacklight the Compressor looked like a nuclear meltdown. GM compressors from that Era are known to go bad.

Anyways, I've been doing a lot of prep and research on this project. There are some hose fittings that you wont be able to spec with a socket. The condenser inlet and outlet are such fittings. Mine are both 24mm. In order to torque them I got something called Crowfoot Flare Nut Wrenches. You can attach them to your torque wrench drive, and since it's an open wrench, you can fit them over the hose and torque the fitting to whatever spec you need. The dryer fitting to the liquid line is also a hose fitting. I'm not sure Is there are any others. the compressor connections for mine are bolts off the the side of the high and low sides, that can be torqued with a socket.

Are you going to do it soon? I wanted to do it this weekend but I'm not ready yet. I'm sure it will be one of the hardest projects I've done.

But Kentucky summers without AC are less than pleasant, believe me....
