Hi, I am in the process of picking up a 97 sl1 with approx 107,000 miles. The car has sat idle for most of this year. Aside from fluid changes and tune-up items, is there anything I need to look for,or be aware of? How about repair manuals? Haynes,Chiltons,or something else? Online parts?Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. Rich

the best repair manual is actually the dealer/factory manual because its year/model specific change the oil, tranny fluid, spark plugs and wires, intake filter, and if it sat for a long time(more than six months) fill the tank once with premium fuel to clear the crud out of the fuel system it wont hurt it the only reason i said once is the car actually gets addicted to premium if its too expensive i would just do it the 1 time. hope this helps. if its a manual transmission saturnsare actually pretty fun to drive! let me know if i forgot something

Should also do a couple top end cleanings with Seafoam, MMO or GM Top End Cleaner. After sitting that long the pol control rings are most likely stuck and dried up. This will lead to massive oil burning. Should be fine after the cleanings though.
