Default burning oil smell at high rpms?

When i wait to shift my car until its in the higher rpms (like 4000-4500) i smell burning oil. I usually shift at about 3000. This has been going on for a while and I've just left it alone; but its starting to get really annoying and i feel like i cant push my car at all because its going to start burning oil and it might be a bigger problem then i think.
Thank you

Chances are your car is probably burning oil wether you smell it or not. Most of the SL/SC 1.9l burn some amount of oil wether small or large. ALWAYS check your oil level frequently! These cars are well known for this problem but will run forever if kept topped off. I check mine weekly and depending on how I have driven it will depend on how much it burnt. See if your oil level is low. Do you notice any smoke released from the tail pipe? If so what color is it?

And second how confident are you that it is an oil smell. It could be fuel because of an exhaust leak. Obviously the harder you drive the more you would smell it in the cabin.

If he's getting the RPMs up really high before he releases the clutch, that might explain the smell also

and no, there is no smoke coming from the exhaust. And im positive its a burning oil smell. I know saturns are known for burning oil, i have to check mine often and its always in need of some amount i just wanted to make sure nothing was seriously wrong with my car

You might have a leaking valve cover gasket with the oil seeping onto your exhaust manifold. Any drips under the car? Place a piece of cardboard under it when you park it for the night and check it in the morning for drips.
