Hi, I have a SW2 2000, the brakes where never that great it had 90,000 miles on it when I purchased it ,I now have 112,600 miles and the pedal has to be pushed hard and you can,t emergency stop the car, the pedal is not hard but you don,t have a lot of brake power, shoes and pads are new, two shops are telling the brakes are fine after taking my money . If anyone knows how I can get to the bottom of this problem please let me know ,thanx, Todd

make sure the fluid level is good, and make sure that the brakes are properly bled!

Hi Patrick, yea it was bled by both shops, but they still may have let air in or not bled using the correct procedure, the pedal feels like your pushing on a strong spring and if you push harder you don't get any more braking power out of it, I'm actually bringing it to Saturn tomorrow and I'll see what they say, thanks, Todd

Hi, guys, i brought it to Saturn today, they said the people who just put in the rear brakes not only used a cheap after market brand, but they also installed them incorrectly. they also said the front brakes are low and the rotors are thin and rusted. This part doesn't make sense to me because my father replaced those rotors with new ones last year, but i am paying Saturn 800.00 for the job .

ouch....i would go after whoever did them last time for a refund.
