bad mileage sl1
SL1twincam, what these guys need to help you are the actual mileage figures for that car...fill it up and have the girlfriend drive it until it needs gas, then write down the miles driven and the gas it takes to fill the tank, preferably at the same station with the same pump to the same first click. Then give these guys those figures and they will be able to tell you what mileage the car's getting, whether that's a normal figure or not, and indicate for you whether there's a problem or not....and maybe even some steps to take to see an improvement...
As it is all they have to go on is you saying it's getting crappy mileage, but not saying what that mileage is...

I used a mustang gt (auto) for a week only filled it up twice, used it as a dd that whole week. The saturn (auto) I used for 2 days, filled it up when i got it and used it as a dd but the 2nd night going into the 3rd day i had to fill it up. My jetta 2.0 (stick with bad floater) for a week i gotta fill it up atleast 4 times. So the saturn kinda has crappy mileage, its not that bad. i still haven't gotten numbers. still sorry about it, its kinda hard when you don't own the car.
First, if it's a "TwinCam" it's a SL2. If it's a SingleCam it's a SL or SL1. Second, all SL's from the first day to the last day had a 12.8 gallon fuel tank. Mileage ranged 25 city to 35 hiway. Many people saw 38 and 40 mpg at times. Others reported getting 40-45 hiway from time to time. I never hit 40mpg on a road trip with any of the 10 S-Cars I bought new. Nor have I seen 40-44 mpg with any of my IONs as one dweeb on another forum says he does all the time with his ION. Then most everything the dweeb says is out of this world. Now untill you learn how to figure gas mileage you'll have no idea what gas mileage your getting.
