I have noticed my car is not doing very good on gas, it went from 28 mpg in town to 20.&nbsp\\; With gas prices like they are, this is not a good thing!&nbsp\\; It has acted up a few times when I went to start it, a couple of times it sputtered and died, and a few times it has wanted to idle high.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; Any help is appreciated!!&nbsp\\; My car is a 99 SL2 with 103,000 miles on it.

just start with the normal tune up parts such as the plugs, wires, PCV valve, air filter, fuel filter

Check the throttle postion sensor if idling high. Can buy it from Rock auto on line. Fixed my problems. Check air filter also. There is also a valve on by the TPS that can stuck also, but mostly can be cleaned. Called the idle something?? in the book.
