I am having a very serious problem and it has now been taken to two transmission guys and still no answer. My SL1 has 130K and have not had a problem with it up to now. Now it doesn't seem to want to upshift.It goes intodrive fine and first gear doesn't seem to be a problem. However as it upshifts, the RPMs have to get really high before it shifts. You can gun it and it won't go over 30mph. It seems to take forever to get from second to third...(it is an auto trans). I noticed a couple of weeks ago it didn't quite pull up hills as fast as it used to and had to floor it to get it up to 55 on a hill. I am new to the forum and am clueless...btw it's my 3rd Saturn. Do frequent oil, tune ups and trans filter and fluid change.. . (all recent and topped off). Please help me.

 

Anyone else got this? As far as autos... I'm probably as clueless asa dog trying to fix it... I'd say check fluids, any major dents on the tranny if you look at the bottom, (is there linkage involved in an auto?)
