Oh and buying a chip for a S-car does NOTHING save your money.

country_boy 01-07-2011 04:46 PM

what...!? that really sucks. whats the easiest and cheapest way to get a few ponies and mpg's out of these cars other than intake and exhaust?

uncljohn 01-07-2011 10:46 PM

Dunno for sure unless some one were to define cheapest. But, my money says, forget intake and exhaust and install better cams. I would not mind anothr 15 hp for my 94. But Intake and exhaust won't get it and I am not willing to pull the engine apart to change cams.

It's not like the old "cast iron" days when all one needed to do to get more HP was throw on a set of headers and flop a larger carburator on top -- these little L4's have been tweeked and engineered to get most of the most out of the engine. Any additional gains will be made only by the application of 'mucho dinero' and very careful thought and foresight ......
