93 SL2 1.9 DOHC. Starts and runs fine when cold and after warming up. Turn it off and try to start it after a couple minutes and there is absolutely no spark (from either coil). Replaced CPS to no avail. Only code from PCM is a code 23 which is for the IAT sensor. The car will start and run fine again after about an hour. I'm at a loss. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!Edited by: sw2cam

Are the IAT and ECTS plugged in, fairly new and providing the PCM with the correct readings? If not, its possible that they are reporting incorrect information back to the PCM. The PCM might think the engine its badly overheating and not allowing it to start. Thus the no spark condition.

I checked all connections and found POSSIBLY the coolant temperature sensor connector was not making good contact. Anyway, the old beater seems to be starting at first crank after several trials. Thanks for your help.

no spark can be caused by cps, pcm(not likely),or the ei module(part the coils mount to)i guess wiring too. my next step would be the ie module

Final chapter. Symptoms of not starting returned next day. Replaced the Ignition Control Module (137.00 + tax at O'Reilly's). Starts like a champ. No hiccups. Thanks for all advice.
