2000 SL2 Oxygen Senor Replacement
Can anyone tell me where the O2 Sensor is Located on the 2000 SL2 DOHC? I need to replace it. Are there any special tools that I need?
Thanks in advance. Stick |
There are 2. One is in the exhaust manifold the other is down stream in the exhaust pipe, I believe after the cat. Boxend wrench should do fine, but they do make a special socket for them. Why do you need to repace it?

What codes are being set ? This might help do you have a scnner that can watch the O2 sensor voltage? |
Thank you for the link and tip. I most likely will replace both of them if they are readily accessible. No scanner available.
|
Repacing them won't hudt anything, but why would you replace the sensors?
What pointed you in that direction? |
Wow! Napa says $94 for the rear sensor and $67 for the front one. The auto shop who did the scan told me the 02 sensor code.
|
that's about the right price, most times it is the front one. It is a crap shoot with out the scanner.

post the code or play roulette with your hard earned dollars...your choice
