Default 1998 sl

i just bought a 98 sl and the ac blows cold but i noticed it doesnt blow as much out the center two vents. is this a common problem and does anyone know what needs to be done?

possibly an issue with the ventilation control cables?

(Not my forte)

OA should have some good input on this.....

More likely a dirty evaporator core -- remove the shroud surrounding the A/C (have to disconnect and remove the radio too), then careully clean the coil and remove any foreign debris -- then reassemble

really? that would affect distribution of air flow???

The blower forces air through the evaporator core, then distributes to to the inside of the vehicle. When the system is set to "recycle" the cabin air (max cool) the system can draw dust-n- debris off the carpet mats and into (on the ) core, thereby restricting the flow

well I'll be....

But how does that affect the distribution amongst the vents -- or are you saying the because of the buildup on the evap core, the flow is "naturally" restricted in that manner due to the location of the buildup?
