1997 Saturn SL2 OEM 6 Disc CD Changer

I have a 1997 Saturn SL2 with most of the options. However I don't have the 6 disc CD changer, and I would like to install that. I found an adapter in my trunk that looks like it would plug-in to the OEM 6 disc CD changer. I am wondering if this is correct, and if anyone has any ideas as to where I could get an OEM 6 disc CD changer. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions as to how I can get a CD changer in my trunk, it would be appreciated, thanks! :)

If you find one it would just be dumb luck, they are very rare. PS: I do not "think" the CD changer was offered 97 and later. Yet all 1995-1999 Saturn radios inter-change

Yeah I figured that. I have looked on several used car parts websites and Ebay, but have never came up with anything. I would really like to find one though...as CD's provide for the best audio quality and I'm a bit of an audiophile.

Ga aftermarket bother ............... cheap at twice the price.

Yeah, I've been chatting with Crutchfield experts to find out if they had any ideas for me...none so far.

Anybody have any idea whether there's a connection like that at the back of my wagon somewhere? Having a fused hot lead back there already would be worth its weight in gold for the upgrades I'm going to be doing soon...

Yep, that pre-installed adapter is going to be handy little piece of hardware if I can ever find a 6 disc CD changer. I'm not sure about your wagon...but if anyone ever finds an OEM trunk CD changer for me, I'll be more than happy to take it off your hands for some cash. :)

Well, if my file is correct, here's what you're looking at with that connector. I'm looking at the top picture of the three you posted:

brn/wht --> left audio signal
grn/wht --> right audio signal
blk/wht --> audio common
bare wire-> shield ground
org wire--> B+
blk wire--> data in
grn wire--> data out

Seems the connector is missing three wires:

yel wire --> ign
blk/wht --> data clk
blk wire --> ground

I'm not sure if the two blk wires in the second group on my list are redundant or not, so you may be able to get by without them ... but I would suspect the missing yel wire might be important.

That can't be good. I'm looking at buying this OEM CD changer: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_1047wt_905
I sent him an email with the pictures...we'll see what he say's in reply. That would be really strange to have 3 random wire missing from the connector.

Are these the wires you are speaking of? For some reason they are are wired to my speakers.
