I have a 1995 SL1 with 144k miles. I use Sam's Club gasoline for the most part, I would say 95% of the time.

This is a manual shift car.

When I am taking off from a light, it seems to "stutter" or "miss" quite a bit. It seems to level out above 2500 rpm or so and does not effect highway driving.

At times its almost non existent and other times its quite apparent.

I had this same issue a few years ago and replaced the plugs and wires, which seemed to help a bit, but the issue did not entirely go away and is now back.

It does not seem to be related to type of fuel or temperature of engine or wet weather. It also starts extremely fast, often with less than 3 cranks.

The idle seems fairly stable and it idles/runs a bit rougher if I am in city traffic with the air compressor on (to be expected).

What would be the logical progression of things to check and test?
I also purchased a new fuel filter way back when but have yet to put it on thinking a filter issue would cause more problems than I am seeing...?

Try cleaning the EGR valve shaft that may have deposits keeping the EGR valve from smooth opening and closing the pintle valve.
