Does anyone knoe if a 1994 1.9L SOHC motor will fit in a 1998 saturn car with a 1.9L SOHC

I don't think so. As I recall, the 93 and 94 enginesare more or less identical. There are differences after that. Hopefully someone more knowledgable will chime in.

Yes, it'll drop right in. The only difference is that there will be an unused temperature sensor on the head.

So I guess the reverse would be true, then? I have a 1994 SC2 with a blownengine and acquired an engine from a 1995 SL2, both SOHC. Would I be able to drop the motor in without problem?

You're describing vehicles with DOHC motos, not SOHC. If you're really talking about DOHC motors, then you will be OK as long as your 1994 SC2 has California emissions. If not, you are going to have to take the head off the 1994 motor and put it on the 1995 block.Edited by: Low Saturn

The car is actually an SC1, not an SC2 like the guy who gave me the car said it was. It does have a SOHC engine and the engine I acquired for it is a SOHC engine as well. The car IS a 1994 and the engine I acquired is out of a 1995 and I assume it to be out of an SC1 as well. (The assumption that it was out of an SC2 was made on my part. Boy I feel like an...idiot now. haha)


So...will it work?

Not as a direct swap. You'll have to swap heads. The 1994 is TBI and the 1995 is MPFI. It would actually be easier to swap in a DOHC engine.
