I have a 2002 sl2, about to go on 36k. My wife will use this for driving around with baby. Since it is 5+yrs old, is there any normal maint. that should be done, eventhough miles only at 36k? Should i bring it into dealer to give it a look over? How much $$ to expect?

Thanks all

The little book in the glove box is the best thing to look at for scheduled maintenance. If it were my car I'd never let anyone but the dealer do the repairs. Call and ask the dealer if they do a 27 point inspection with the oil change. That'll give you a fairly good once over.

I have your car model. I bought it used last year at 55k. the previous owner evidently didn't do any preventative maintenance whatsoever, and believe me, it's a pain when little things come up that could've been prevented if the lady just went to the dealer every once in a while!

if you're unsure, go to the saturn dealer and get a 100-point inspection (I did this before I even bought the car). depending on where you live, it'll range anywhere between $50-75+, and definitely worth it! you can also ask them to rank the importance of the issues that may come up, so you can budget when to get the repairs/maintenance done.

A good site to check out is edmunds.com (I linked it to the sl2) for a schedule! good luck!< ="text/">
