Vw TDi

I am going over to the dark side. I have located a 2000 VW New Beetle TDi stick shift for a reasonable price. It is wrecked and may or not be fixable. The powertrain fits Jettas and Golfs so if the Beetle is not repairable I can just move it. The Saturns will probably go away. VW diesels get 45 mpg so that is the deal. I will keep you posted, I may have a ton of stuff for sale.

Ya gotta do what you gotta do in todays economy, Andy. You can't beat a VW diesel for reliability unless you have a Cummings! LOL Can you imagine stuffing a Cummings Turbo Diesel in a Saturn L series wagon? That would be a hell of a machine!

No but the VW will fit, we will look at all options.

I knew it was a matter of time before you would need something more/else to keep your mind occupied.
A man cannot live on L cars alone -- not you anyway.
Wonder how many of the older Jetta Golf Engines fit in my A3............

Let me know on here or Facebook about parts. I may be interested in a couple things.
and I also have an 03 passat wagon with a 1.8t in it. Fwd auto unfortunately. But they seem way more simple than the ecos.
machine shop is 4 months behind tho, so its tucked away.

Between that and my jeep, I'm about going that same route just for more fun

I'm actually in the opposite position and just picked up an l200 to replace a 2000 TDI golf! They're great cars, but unfortunately rust has gotten the majority of my rockers and it's time to move on. I have a Bently service manual, a VCDS reader, Bosal euro hitch, rear brake tool, alternator tightening tool and probably some other odds & ends that might be able to help you along if you're interested?

The VW did not pan out. The Diesel Beetle was too hurt and I am too busy to move away from Saturns. I found a beautiful long roof L with 96k miles.

VW. Very Worrisome. Nuff said.
