Struts
I recently put a set of Monroe struts on my G.C. and I'd say 5 weeks later the bearings started making noise. Pretty annoyed since Monroe is supposed to be good. Kybs are good for sure. Check warranty when making the purchase. Lifetime would be worth the extra.
I would ask how you know the struts are bad?
Reason I ask is because I had 3 shops tell me I needed new struts and an alignment to the tune of $1500-$1800. Forth shop lead tech came out to the car and the tech pushed on the left, right, and rear of the car and said the struts and shocks were fine. I had a bad shimmy whenever I got over 60 MPH and that's what prompted my visit to all those shops. Tires were fine. Visited SaturnFans and the experts there said that happens all the time and that it's usually B$ as Saturns have a floating strut that's often misdiagnosed as bad and that I probably only needed an alignment.
My '03 Saturn L200 had 75,000 on it at the time.
Went to an alignment shop, told them the story, they aligned it as well as is allowed by the design, and the shimmy was gone. I tested it at 80 MPH on a 75 MPH freeway and it was smooth as silk. 18 months later it's still fine.
