Default L200 wont start

Engine turns over, with starting fluid runs 2- 3secconds. it has a tiny bit of fuel dribbling out of fuel rail valve

I suspect that the fuel pump is not working properly. Further diagnosis of that system is in order.

The fuel rail is pressurized and should not be leaking. I think you should fix that first.

I don't think the rail is leaking but that he means when the valve is opened there's a dribble.
You need to fix the fuel pump or it's circuit.
Do you have a dvom?

Aw, yeah, on re-reading OP's post I get it now, I misread..sorry. Although fuel pumps are fairly reliable, they do burn out on occasion but the good thing is that OP can install an external fuel pump to test with if needed after performing the other standard fuel pump tests. The cheap ones are like $25 on ebay, there's a pretty good one for $35. Good as a test tool (or replacement) for the in-tank pump, much less expensive then having a shop drop the tank and less work for a DIY'er. Race car mechanics use them all the time. They just suck fuel right through the in-tank pump. I used one for years on my 190 HP diesel engine and my race track friends automatically install them in new builds. Just a suggestion if it turns out to be the fuel pump.

Put a noid lamp on one if the injector connectors to see if the injectors are firing. 29 bucks at harbor freight or if you are handy you can cobble your own together out of a 12 volt low wattage auto bulb or a resistor and LED, if using an LED you have to observe polarity.

does you tach read at all when cranking? That is if you have a tach,

If it does chances are your ignition module is good. You can also pull a plug and check for spark. Best done at night with a friend turning the key while you watch.

Check your injector fuse. Your pcm fuse and ignition fuse.

You can put a voltmeter on the injector positive supply wire and the ignition module.

Wiggle the wire harness at the pcm while cranking if you can reach it.

Check grounds inside the engine compartment for corrosion.

Put a code reader on the thing and see if any codes pop up.

I always thought that if the tach is active while cranking, it usually means the CKP is alive. Yes? No? But would not indicate anything about the status of the ICM.
