Okay, I know I originally said 02, but that's what was on the window sticker. The title actually says 03. LOL

It looks really clean! Congrats on the buy!

Thanks, Billy. I got a 30 day warranty with it and used it today. Seems like the damn thing had the original bonded brake shoes on it and they bonding turned loose in the drivers side drum. Made a hell of a racket! I took it back to J.P's shop and they put on new brakes, no questions asked. I've known this guy that runs the lot since I was a kid, so I know he stands behind his vehicles for 30 days. He even told me if I didn't like it up until then, he'd buy it back from me for what I paid him and give me the Neon back.

That's one hell of a guy then, I know some people talk just to talk.
warranties are you friend!

That's a great looking L series! Let me know if you want/need any parts, I still have some kicking around...

Just a thought, but you might swing by a local GM dealer and see if there are any open recalls on the car... From what I recall, the timing chain guides can fail on the early 2.2 ecotec, but I can't remember whether it was 2003 or 2004 in which the issue was remedied... This issue claimed our L200 a short while ago, you'll hear a faint ticking sound, really light and barely audible, and our engine lasted for 11,500 miles making that racket before it died...

From what ive read, the 03s and 04s are known for timing chain issues.
Im at 114k and I haven't had the issue, yet *knock on wood*

That is a nice ride. 2.2L ecotec correct? Good color inside and out. Like the ecotec in any GM car a new timing chain once over 120k is a good idea. Like any car adjust the rear brakes and the roTaTors and front pads will last a long long time. My youngest Daughters ION now over 110k still has the factory pads, shoes, drums, and rotors. I adjust the rears twice a year. Daughter Em, GrandDaughter NatiPati packed her ION this morning, left a hour ago to Vegas. They will be gone 7-10 days meeting her life long friend Sarah. I have no worries with the ION. Hell if she took off for Maine I'd not be concerned with the car. That said I think the 2.2L L car is a purdy good rig. Over all bout on par with the S-SERIES. Engine wise the ecotec is better in my experience. I have had 15 Saturns. My kids have had another 6. Other family members have had another who knows how many.

A while back....I saw a new PAIR of headlight for L-CARS on ebay. They were like $100 bucks. Saw a PAIR for the ION sedan for like $88 bucks. I have seen other Saturn items on ebay. I bought a new passenger side ION power mirror a year ago for under $80 bucks?

Brother man .... I want to see more pictures.

What other pics would you like to see, Rj? I take them and get my daughter to load them for me. What takes me about 30-45 minutes takes her about two or three. She's in Chattanooga for the weekend, so it will be Monday before I could get anymore posted. Anything in particular you'd like to see? Like my Charlie engineered fix for my broken console top? It ain't pretty, but by God it works.

As long as it involved some combination of a hammer, spackle, and duct tape, I'm fine with it.
