Default Details on L100 Odometer Light

Hello! My 3002 L100 has no illumination on the odometer. The odometer itself works, but near impossible to see. My question is this: If I pull out the instrument cluster, is there a screw-in bulb, easily located there? Or, do I need to remove the backer board to get at the odometer itself? Lastly, what size bulb do I need to buy to replace for odometer illumination? Thank you in advance!

I appreciate the manual, but it doesn't address this nitty little bulb issue specifically. If anyone has done this, please advise re my question. Thank you.

You didn't look at the cluster? What did you look at?

Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - Cluster Bulbs

TOOLS REQUIRED
SA9502Z Anti-Static Mat

REMOVAL

NOTE: Failure to use the Anti-Static Mat SA9502Z properly may result in damage or latent damage to the cluster electronics.

IMPORTANT: If the lens/mask gets dirty, it can be cleaned by following the procedures in the Owner's Handbook.

1. Remove instrument panel cluster assembly.
2. Thoroughly dean hands with soap and water to remove any oil or other substances which could damage the cluster. If unable to dean hands, an alternative is to wear surgical gloves during all procedures.

IMPORTANT: It is strongly recommended that rubber gloves (e.g., surgical gloves) be worn while performing removal and installation procedures to prevent grease, smudges, scratches and fingerprints.
3. Place Anti-Static Mat SA9502Z down on the work area. In order to ground the mat, connect the alligator clip to a large metal object (e.g., work bench) making sure the attaching point is a bare metal surface and not painted or coated. Also, put the wrist strap around one of your wrists.
4. Place a clean, dry, soft material such as a cloth baby diaper on top of the anti-static mat.

5. Place the instrument panel cluster assembly face down on the cloth and the anti-static mat.
6. To remove bulb, rotate the bulb base 1/4 turn counter-clockwise using a 1/4 in. socket or small flat-blade screwdriver.

INSTALLATION
1. To replace bulb, rotate the bulb base 1/4 turn counter-clockwise using a 1/4 in. socket or small flat-blade screwdriver.
2. Install the instrument panel cluster assembly.

It is a different bulb than the rest. It is some sort of led bulb. I pulled a working one from another cluster I had. Probably the same from 2000-2005 L series.

Thank you for clarifying that the odometer bulb is in fact different from the regular incandescents. So it's an LED... but I'd like to buy it in advance so my car isnt disabled waiting for a replacement. Do you know what I need to order in advance? Thank you!

This is what it looks like. All the other bulbs are incandescent bulbs and are easily replaced. This looks like it is discontinued by GM.
