A/C is not workin in my 2003 Saturn L200
Hi,
need help, in my Saturn 2003 L200 air conditioner is not working, when i push the AC button the light on the AC button turns on but the cool air never starts. even i can not feel the sound or load on engine when i turn the AC button on. Please guide. Thanks. Kaushal |
sounds like all refrigerant has leaked out of system. once it gets too low, the compressor will not kick in

Thanks for your quick reply, is this something can be rectified by refilling the gas only??

Hmmm - 2003 -- seems I have heard of more than one in that era with A/C loss of coolant. Something about a safety valve in the high pressure line not working properly. I think I'd have the experts look at it .....

did you try a leak detector dye that you can get from a auto part store ?
It will let you know if you have a leak and where it is , like mine was in a hose & it cost me $23 for the hose I put it on and works fine . Spent $4 on leak detector and $5 on a UV Flash lite, $23 for hose vs paying one thousand to have it fix. Hope this help |
Just be sure to vac the system down real good to get the dye out after you replace the bad parts. The dye will displace the Freon and add inefficiency to the system. Just a heads up. Some people vac down to a certain inch of mercury, but I go with a micron gauge and vac it down to a sustained 100 microns. That means vac it, then isolate the system and see if the gauge increases, that means there is still moisture in the system.
