Cranks but won't start
Ok, y'all helped alot before - and here I am again lol. Current issue is she'll crank but not catch . Have a feeling that due to me unhooking the battery every night I have must the computer up. Thinking maybe cps?
Why are you unhooking the battery every night? Depending on the year of the car you are likely setting pass key back to square one by doing so which means you need to turn your key on (not running) for 10 minutes, turn the key off, turn your key on (not running) for 10 minutes, turn the key off, turn your key on (not running) for 10 minutes, turn the key off then start the car. Try that before chasing your tail.
There's a short somewhere that keeps my drls from going off. Even with the fuse pulled. So it's arcing somewhere and I just unhook the battery at night. Which I figure has screwed with the computer settings. Is there any repercussions from doing a computer reset?
Doing the pass key reset every day takes at least a half hour out of your day but also will end up eventually killing your battery if you live in a snow state. If your DRL are staying on you need to find the source for that. If I knew what car we are talking about I could likely point you in a direction but as it is I’m gonna guess you are pulling the wrong fuse (a fuse controls the power side of a circuit. It’s incredibly unlikely your DRL are shorted to power)
What happens if you cycle your headlights (on-off, hi-lo)? And are you 100 percent you pulled the right relay? I would triple check before going too far because odds are high that this is where you are at. For the DRL to work with that relay out there needs to be either a short to power in the fuse box itself (should be evident by a pile of corrosion) and/or 2 wires rubbed together in the exact same place somehow not touching anything else (because that would blow a fuse).
Why not just unplug the DRL harness? IDK where it is, but suspect it's under the driver side front fender liner somewhere. Andy is the L series guru here. I'm surprised he hasn't had a suggestion or two.
As for it being the CPS, I believe the car wont crank with a faulty CPS.
