2003 L200 Flashing Security light when hot out
 

Hoping someone can help me. I have a L200 Saturn and the Security Light is giving me some troubles.....but only when it is hot out (around 90F). In the mornings and evenings when it is cooler, never had a problem. Only when it is hot. What happens is that the security light flickers on and off (seems randomly) and will not allow me to shift out of Park. I can start it and operate everything else just fine. Any suggestions would be helpful.

PS. For those of you caught with a similar Security Light issue and wont let you shift out of Park, simply put your car in Accessory, shift into Neutral, then start the car. It will allow you to shift to Drive once it is started from Neutral.

What corrected the issue?
 

What did you have to do to correct the problem? I have the same issue with my 2002 L 200.

I have a 2002 L200 Saturn that recently started having Security display on the dash on and off. When the Security light comes on it's accompanied with a few other dash lights and sometimes the chime sounds. Occasionally, no dash light come on but the car will still start, run then die. Sometimes the car will start, run and stop and other times the car just run fine. Sometimes it will not start at all but after about 10 minutes or so of waiting and trying again it will start. This seem to happen more when the car is warm or weather is hot outside. I have attempted to reset the Passlock many times but didn't help. I have also noticed the dome light flashes whenever the car does not start normally. The BCM has been reconditioned by Module Experts of Jacksonville, Fl. They had to clone my old one due to my processor being beyond repair. Any ideas on what else could be causing this issue?

I would go back and have this discussion with the shop that reconditioned the BCM, sounds like this could still be a problem. I have had trouble with new parts from time to time. It may be unrelated but I would still contact them first.

Thanks, I have contacted them and am waiting to hear back from their tech support folks. I thought the same thing but was wondering if there is something else that could be the culprit.
