ok well my girlfriend has a 2002 saturn L series its got the 1.9 liter its a 5 speed it just rolled over to 100,000 the other day just changed the oil and 700 miles later it starts to tick we were in the city were it was running warmer then it usually does it usually runs at a quarter way and it was running more towards half way we noticed it started ticking but its weird it only ticks after it gets warm its of course coming from the engine but what is causing this problem? it doesnt seem to tick when the clutch is pushed in it only ticks at certain times that the throttle is pushed to a certain point like the engine is at a certain torque it doesnt seem to tick after about 2 1/2 grand on the tachthe car hasnt lost any power at all and runs completly finethis car gets 45 mpg so i really need to figure out what this problem is sorry this forum is so long but i really am trying to explain what the problem is thanks in advance

If your girl has a Saturn "L series" she does not have a 1.9L 4cly engine. The 1.9L was never in the mid size car. As far as the ticking noise goes I can't hear it from where I'm sitting. Could be any moving part under the hood.
