The title says you have a LS1(stick). Does this mean you have a 4 cylinder 5 speed manual transmission? If so who replaced the transmission and what do you mean it does not register that it is in gear? From that description it sounds like an automatic. We need more information and we will help if we can.

Default Sorry

I do misword myself a lot. It it manual and it felt like it kicked me out of gear but when I tried to put it back in 1st gear it wouldn't move. Tried every other gear too nothing. Replaced the transmission cause my friend said that was the problem but the car still won't move. Yes the car is a 2000 Ls1

Did you replace the clutch? Did you verify that both axles are good?

No haven't had a chance yet. They guy that had it gave it to another friend. I think I should have just done this myself... before this happened my front wheel bearing assembly completely went out and he took the car to fix it because I didn't know how to do that. Well I got it back and every time I turned it made a horrible noise had the car back for 3 days then this happened.

Sounds like one of the axles failed. Replacing the transmission on this car is quite complicated. You have to drop the cradle and the exhaust. Replacing an axle is fairly easy for a shop.

Default Ok new question

So my title says it's a 2000 ls1. When I bought the car the kid said it was a 2001 ls2. I go by the title when looking for parts but every time I get a part it doesn't fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated

A Ls2 should be a v-6 car, the v-6 cars only came with an automatic transmission. Automatic and stick shift cars take different axles.

Default Ok so

Ok now that that kid has finally given my damn car back (had it 3 months still doesn't move) got to check it out a little more and found out when the car is running I can put it into 2-5 gears with out pushing on my clutch. So is my clutch bad? Might that have been the problem this whole time? He says he put a different transmission in but I don't think he ever did
