Default Whats the difference?

So I thought I was buying a 2006 Saturn Ion-2 (never looked at the title just went by what they told me) but they gave me the VIN last night so I can get my insurance before I pick it up when its done at the shop for the window. Well I just ran the VIN and it popped up with a 2007 Saturn Ion-3, my friend says shes sure her mom got it late 2006 and I know when a vehicle is made late in the year it becomes the next years model. Whats the difference if any? I know there is a very fine line between the models....anything different they did in 2007 than in 2006?! Sorry if this is a dumb question but I looked and havent really found anything to answer this. Not that it makes a big deal on the difference but I was just curious. TIA!

I'd probably go by what the vin# says it is, Mandee. Examine the title when you get it and see what's on it.

Raised the HP by the number of 5
More quiet steel
More seat padding front and rear

and more. RjION may add more.

Post the first 11 digits of your VIN right after you post PICTURES.

New models are normally out in September of the prior year.
