ION 2006 Winter Mats
Here's the deal...
I had some nice winter mats in a previous car. Supposed to be universal... Well sadly they don't really fit the ION. So I got some Rubbermaid one... they did fit. Problem is they didn't survive this winter. Come spring there were some cracks in the driver's mat so they don't last. I was looking at other brands at my Walmart and Canadian Tire and they all are as thin and bad as the Rubbermaid. My only 2 left options...
Curious to read what other ION driver have been usnig for winter mats ! |
I have found a 3rd option! (thanks to google showing me stuff from the redline forums)
www.saturnparts.net Anyone on here has actual experience with those? |
If your talking about the SATURN all weather mats .... They are OUTSTANDING.
|
Saturn mats are the best I've had.
|
Yeah those are from Saturn... well saturnparts
You guys seem to love them, cool now let me bug you with questions :D What is the winter like in your area? No offense but all weather isn't the same everywhere. Up here winter means snow from october to april. Some years are milder and some nastier like everywhere... 2 weeks ago I woke up 2 days in a row with snow on the car. So winter mats are essentials. How long have you had the Saturn mats and how much mileage to you put in on winter roughly per week? Feedback appreciated ;) |

NoChit PaleFrog. Winter is not the same in Gilbert Arizona as it is in Gilbert Minnesota, who woulda thunk. Guess what, summers differ a little also. If you don't want to buy the Saturn Mats go to 70 Simonds N. and buy the crap they sell. NEXT |

Placed my order online last night turns out the mats are not available anymore...
Guess I'm off to checking for a used and not abused set... or working off with nn perfect fit ones... weathertech are just to freaking expensive for this guy here even more so that they're not perfect fit but also need to be trimmed. I'm off to eBay... after checking classifieds on here first. |
So I went with some Michelin from Costco ... they do OIK but not as good as I would have loved. The driver's mat kept sliding up... and was not covering all that properly as teh calcium spot I now have confirms. I'll be abel to clean it up with vinegar and a floor brush(trick here from this canuck)
Still wish that Saturnparts would have had stock on those. Anyone knows of other sources for those mats ???? Any other options that are known to work properly ? I'm getting to spring cleaning but I'll start planning the next winter right now. I'd like to have something better for the next one. |
