I want to add keyless entry to my 2005 Ion. It has power locks/trunk. I see theseDIY kits all the time. Anyone ever installed one? Trying to decide whether toDIY or just pay a pro.

It all depends which ion model you got...I think it would be better just to have the factory RKE instead of aftermarket deals. If you got the Ion without RKE, you need to get the BCM replacement that had RKE capabilites and reprogram the BCM for your car and then add however many RKE fobs you want. All this must be done by the dealer or a shop that has access.

Hi I just got a used 06 Ion and was told it had keyless entry. The dealer where i got it Told me all i had to do was go to a Saturn dealer and get the key fab programed. So when i did I found out that my car was not able to have keykess entry. They told me it would cost $300 to have it insalled so i could have it. i am thinking of getting it.
