2006 ION 2 2.2L Clutch Pipe

I have a clutch hose that is popping out of the slave cylinder on a 2006 ION 2 2.2L with manual transmission. The only parts diagram I can find is the following that list two different parts.

https://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.c.../12587539.html

The part that it appears I need is 12589202, but it says it only fits the redline model. Anyone know if the redline and the manual ION 2's used the same clutch parts?

Expanding the fitment list shows

Part Number: 12587539 ; 12584427

HOSE,CLU ACTR CYL.
Saturn Ion Base2007
Saturn Ion LVL 12003, 2004, 2005
Saturn Ion LVL 22003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007
Saturn Ion LVL 32003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007
Saturn Ion RED LINE2004, 2005, 2006, 2007

I'm going to guess that 12589202 is somehow different than for the other ion flavors.
12587539, however, per the fitment chart above, was more of a "universal" though not completely, part.

If your hose us popping off because the slave piston won't move, be VERY careful. We've had members with ions where the slave seemed frozen and the problem was actually internal to the transmission.
The slave literally exploded into pieces when too much pressure was put on the clutch pedal. Something was actually bound up in the tranny.

I would open the bleeder and try it with no load. I would imagine the clutch hydraulics could be the same on a Redline and a regular Ion. I think the ecm is mounted on top of the breeder so you may have to move some stuff.

Its the line itself. The part that the metal clip slides into which is supposed to keep it from backing out is corroded and stripped. Its stripped in a way that there isn't an edge and is kind of rounded off so the hose just slips out.

I went back through the cataloging and that same part fits level 1 and level 2. I hope this helps.

If it helps, the clutch line for the base model and Redline aren’t the same at all, it’s because they use different transmissions... the base model is halfway easy to access the bleeder and on the Redline it’s a total pain in the you know where... don’t know how to fix it though other than to replace the line...

so my 2006 Saturn Ion has been in the garage for 3 weeks now … we need the hydraulic line that goes from the clutch to the master slave… I guess they no longer make the part and no compatible models fittings are lining up … any help would be appreciated! Here’s what we need .. and then drawn in what the correct fitting should look like

Sounds like a wrecking yard for you. Find one that has some ions in it and then make a daily check of their inventory for new vehicles that have come in. Some of the yards have national networks and can get the parts shipped to you.

Good luck. Let us know how it works out.
