2005 Ion3 Quad Coupe Security System

Does anyone know how I can disable the factory security system on my 2005 Ion3 Quad Coupe? It seems to un-expectedly start blowing the horn when the car is locked either when it gets cold at night (<50DegF) or rains. I can stop this by remotely locking the car, but then it repeats later, usually in the wee hours of the morning. The only way to stop this seems to be to leave the car unlocked, which isn't always an option. I would like to just disable this security.

check the door switches on each door for moisture inside them.
A switch may be going open circuit on you, which the security system detects as an open door with the security system armed, hence the horn.

To confirm this, make sure you have the dome light set to come on when the door is opened. If one of the switches is acting up, the dome light should be on when the alarm has been activated in the above described manner. Unless the dome light flashes as part of the alarm being tripped.

By relocking remotely, you are of course rearming the system, but if the above was 100% of the problem, the system should re trigger the alarm right away...... and it does not.....

so I am missing part of the puzzle.

Maybe the system recalibrates the baseline to be the current situation and looks for a % change. TOTAL GUESS

I think NewRockies is supposed to be good --no personal experience

in the meantime you could manually lock each door,on mine when you use the remote to lock the doors the alarm is set but manually locked it is not set

Snip the white wire. Not recommended, but works.
