Question 04 Saturn Ion trans dipstick broke in tube

Hi i just joined so hello, ive been having issues with what i assume is transmission (going uphill or speeding up causes my rpm to jump or "cough") so i wanted to check my dipstick, i found what i believed to be my dipstick and started pulling on it, well it was ziptied down where the nut is suppose to be and i pulled a bit too hard, causing my dipstick to break off in the transmission tube. i put "dipstick" in the title like that because i read a lot about how apparently saturns dont have trans dipsticks, ill attach an image of what i pulled on
this is what i pulled on, but mine came out with practically the whole stick broken off in the tube

Thats an image i found in a youtube video, but mine just broke off essentially. so im aware there is a filter but i just want to make sure that my car will be okay, i dont want to fully flush it as theres a LOT of miles on this car, but if its fine in there im not too worried about it.

Dipstick or no dipstick is determined by transmission type. Your Saturn appears to have a dipstick, or a two piece dipstick. Do you have an Ion Coupe? If so you may have a “CVT”, as in constantly variable transmission. This particular transmission has proven to be problematic and takes special fluid. It also has a dipstick. I would not worry about leaving the lower part of the dipstick where it is.
