Help please Rapid Crank no start
Ok hello all I have a 2009 Saturn Aura Eco 2.4 after 2 days of sitting through very cold weather my car has rapid crank no start have replaced all new position sensors new throttle body, new ignition switch, fresh oil change and new filter, checked all fuses and wiring and battery is good no codes come up on scan tool also new plugs please help.....
Fast crank often means no or reduced compression.
This is often the result of a broken timing chain or belt. The cams get out of time with the crank leading to the pistons mangling the valves..
Do a loaner tool from AutoZone or similar for a compression tester. Look up on this forum or the internet how to perform a compression test properly.
Please post the results here and we will go from there.
The above is not the only possible explanation for this situation.

That was honestly what I was feeling it was but was not wanting to admit I'm not had a very good outcome with two vehicles in the past that it was the timing on I never did get the vehicles running again after that so I was hoping not but I will definitely make sure to check this next thank you I'll let you know
[QUOTE=02 LW300;77162]Please check compression before doing anything else.
Ok so checked all the timing and everything looks good. When I bought the car it was pass oil change the message kept popping up in message center on dash and after doing the complete oil change it seemed as if it was a ways pass due. Also had a lot of oil gump build up on oil sensor Also when changed the plugs they to had not been tuned up in forever if ever had the plugs changed they were way bad. and it took way more work to remove the filter than have ever had to do.

Why do I not believe this. Maybe because of this....

You change oil and its way pass due. Take your car to someone who knows what they are doing.

Ok sorry I am only relaying what my husband tells me when we get a chance to talk as he works nights and I work mornings. Anyways compression is good he said it has all of a sudden now thrown the code related to the crankshaft position sensor with has been replaced. Checked all the wiring there and all looks to be good and intact also he went ahead and checked the Tim ng by pulling cover off and doing all the proper steps as listed and it was on and where it needed to be. Nothing yet has changed still a rapid crank no start.
