Default Which engine/year should I get?

Hello everyone, I'm thinking about getting an Aura, but I don't know which year and engine to look for. I'd like to have some pep in my ride, so I'd like a V6, but I don't know if I should get the 3.5 or 3.6, or if either of them will last over 250k miles. Is the 3.5 the Honda engine that was put in the Vue? Who made the 3.6, and is it reliable?

Not the Honda engine.

Both V6 engines are GM creations.

I have always read and heard that the aura was a very nice vehicle plagued by all sorts of electrical problems. But I have no personal experience to share.

The newest one that you could pick up is 15 years old, so it is probably well on its way to 200k. The prospect of buying one that has hidden demons is likely real. I would say to definitely do your homework and be prudent, especially if there is no service history / records available.

For all the engine technical stuff etc...

Personally, I wouldn't get one, but it boils down to what YOU want. I will warn you that there's not a lot of help to be found on the forum due to the fact we don't have many Aura owners here.
