Default 2.4l: Should I be worried about the timing chain guide tensioner?

I've read that this is the most common failure point of these engines, though at 195k I've had no issues yet, and it seems to be most commonly seen with the Equinox and Terrain, which use the later LAF variant. Do LE5s have this issue as well?

They all have the issue.
Even though they have updated the p/n numerous times, I have still had better luck with the original ones.

I wouldn't worry about it until you have a little rattle on startup.

Keep up with oil changes, 2500-3000miles has done all mine well.

Thanks for your response! Trying to stay on top of the oil, it's got a slow leak in the valve cover gasket and I was thinking about asking them to check the tensioner and guide while they're in there.

Worrying will not make it any better and it will not do you any good either. Some last for 250K miles or more.
Drive it worry free until it tells you to worry.

Well, the fact that it's an interference engine makes me worry, haha. But I suppose it wouldn't just fail without any warning is what you're saying?

When she starts talking to you then you can start to, I don't think worry is the right word here, be concerned. She'll more than likely warn you.

Do the valve cover gasket, and while they have the cover off they can check the chain.

I had one ion fail at 140k. And another was close to 400k.

Yes, it's a known issue. But no need to stress about it.
My first one failed because the top guide bolt backed out, not even a tensioner issue.

If it's not rattling, I wouldn't touch it.
