With the death of the ASTRA as a SATURN I guess they will start a migration to the BUICK forums as BUICK ramps up it's rebadged Opel lineup.

and being that Buick's demographics have ALWAYS drawn out the driving youth of America, this should all be pretty comical.....

"Comical" indeed ............................. thats funny stuff, and to be honest derf with SATURN gone as an AMERICAN or CANADIAN car I'll be replacing my ION 2.4 Sedan with something built in the U.S.

is the ecotec any more more reliable than the sh*t they used to put under the hood of the Caveliers? Those engines would tear themselves apart if you looked at them funny.....regardless of maintenance

The aluminum ECOtec is an outstanding engine.

Thank you for the feedback on the Ecotec. I'm still driving S cars (never really "dug" the Ion) and I always wondered whether the Ecotec was reliable enough to be spread across the GM line with success (read: longevity with proper maintenance)...

Joking aside (which is rare for me), what is outstanding about the Ecotec? The service techs at my local Saturn dealership didn't seem overly thrilled by it.

When I bought my 2008 Vue they steered me away from the Ecotec to the V6.

Also, I've read that the non-turbo Skys with the larger Ecotec seemed to have more problems than the smaller turbo-ed version.

Hence my question(s).....

Smooth, quiet, with power. and the techs at the store you go to must have their ears up that dark place, because not one of the techs at my store do not like it. The 2.4L in the SKY, ION, VUE, AURA are bulletproof.
