i drive a saturn astra vxr for a daily, i love it, i have the 5 speed and ive fallen in love with it. i want to put an exhaust on it, give it some personality. i dont want something thats as annoying or raspy as a straight pipe but i want it to be pretty loud while still having a good tone. i was looking at my car on the lift the other day and i think im gonna straight pipe it after the cat then put one of those exhaust tip muffler combonations, suggesttions would be appreciated

Blow the baffles out and see what it sounds like. Might not want to add anything. She'll purr loud.

Scorpion and Cobra stainless systems can be imported from the UK (middle silencer to muffler to tips.

However, the US exhaust manifolds with integrated cat can be sourced in the US from several sources. The second cat can be found in Canada

The ex manifolds have a pre cat, not the only cat, correct?

Behind that there is a resonator and then a muffler. The resonator looks like that of the Chevy Cruze z18xer but I'm not sure it is exact fit.

FYI - The European Astras have a different emissions scheme. They usually do not have the second cat (and I think the manifold also is different but didn't look). Plus they run a hotter thermostat temp.

my vxr has a cat in the manifold, then flex pipe, then another cat, then a resonator, and then muffler, i currently am running a muffler delete. sounds alright. ill be buying a muffler and then only leaving the respnator aswell. i was thinking of getting headers to get rid of the 1st cat too so i could get it tuned but i havent gotten that far yet

Magnaflow makes some high-quality stainless exhaust components for the Astra

1. Exhaust manifold with first cat 51150 (in stock)
2. Front flex pipe with second cat 52475 (available August 2025)

For rear parts (resonator, back pipe, muffler), I found 2 shops in the UK that make stainless (Cobra and Scorpion).

There are cheaper front parts in the US but most are not stainless.
