My girlfriend has a 2008 astra xr 1.8l went to change the fuel pump the old one looks nothing like the new one. The old one looks like the one off on a 2008 sky. Can that be possible. Being one is 1.8l and the other is 2.0l

I don't think they're the same. I suspect someone sold you the wrong pump. Remove the old one and take it with you to the parts store. They all hire people who don't know the difference between an alternator and a starter.

Are you the original owner? Might it have been replaced before?

Does your car have California level emissions? If so the Sky pump may be what you need. Also verify the production date, Rock Auto shows a 2009 Astra but they do not list a fuel pump for that car. You might be in trouble finding an exact replacement. Be careful when removing the unit in the car, you may have to build a hybrid pump and just change the pump itself.

Default Thanks guys

Not original owner but we know the original owner. That pump is from a saturn sky I looked it up before. It must have the California emissions. Thank you all for the help. Just did some more digging and found out that saturn had 2 styles of pumps for this car the new one in my photos(hella358106961) and the old one in my photos still in the tank(delphi#cfg2090/GM93357975) but everywhere shows out of stock of discontinued for the last 2. But it is the same one for the 2008 saturn sky. So that will work. Thanks again for all your guys help. I appreciate you

Once you get it installed, please come back and let us know how it turns out. It could possibly help someone else down the road.

FYI - the Euros had a screw in plate for easy access to the fuel pump.
