You may have already fixed your leak. Here's a link where you can buy the seal for $45.75. http://www.sunroofdoctor.com/

Hey guys, I found this posting by searching the site, Might as well continue an old one that start a new one, Anyway. I''ve got am ''02 SL1, and water is leaking into my car, clearly from the sunroof. Just trying to see what is going on, as I do not have much experience with sunroofs. I see that there are drain tubes, Do I have to remove the headliner to clean them? Do they really need to be replaced if they can be cleared out? Is it ok that the sunroof leaks and I rely on the drains. Or are the drains a backup increase the seal leaks?
Just looking for information and advice, anything would be appreciated!

Just clear out the drains. If you have access to a compressor, just open the sunroof and bolw the debris out of the tubes.

If there is excess water coming in around the glass seal, then it should be replaced.

Ok guys,
So I tested stuff out today, poored water in, and it took a long time for water to start dripping out. then after a few minutes of testing, it began dripping inside the car. Leads me to believe that the tubes have somehow come unattached. So i guess I have to remove the headliner, and just wondering what is entailed in that, it seems like a large job, and i''m not sure of where to start, couldn''t find anything on the subject in my Haynes manual.

Sounds like the tubes are clogged, backing up and spilling over into the interior.

Start by removing the "A" pillar, "B" pillar and "C" pillar trim. Then the grab handles, sunvisors and dome lamp. Recline the seats all the way and remove the headliner from the car.
