PCM for SC2
Have a 93saturn SC2 with 100,00 miles. engine light on, brought to a friends shop, put on computer and codes read back that part of the PCM was sending wrong signals to car. Got another from junk yard, plugged it in and car starts but does not shift correctly. was told to touch negative to positive on battery to re program, still runs crappy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This is after spending about $700 on various little things like EGR and several other things.
did you get a PCM from the same model year with same trans and engine? sounds like a stupid question, I know, but it does happen. Either that or the original PCM had a problem from the beginning that made it seem to run not-so-crappy, that happens rarely but again happens. My suggestion would be to try running the new PCM on computer and see if brings up anything. If everything is the same as before but with a 'new' PCM and it runs crappy, i wonder if the new PCM is bad or if you'd be better off running with the first PCM despite its problem. Sorry about the cash hit, pinpointing these kind of problems sucks
