O ring seals behind timing cover
It has been a while since I visite but my 98 SC2 with 320K slipped its timing chain. I have found a good running 97 DOC engine with 157K. I pulled the motor from a smashed up 97 and will put in the the 98 and then rebuild its engine. I pulled the 97's timing chain cover to check the chain. It looks good and the tensioner is within the limits for it. After that long entro my question is I know there is no gasket on the cover but there are 2 O ring seals in the block side that connects to oil pump outlets. I cannot find anywhere to get new ones. They look ok but I have always changed all seals and gaskets when things are tore down. Is it safe to reuse these? There was no type of sealer on them they come right out they are snug but not a tight fit. Anyone here dealt with this and what have you done?

The manual says to replace with new.
I would - as you really don' t want them bypassing. Advance Auto Parts says they have thtm for $10. |
Thanks, yeah that indeed is what I want to do.
