Need to recharge AC, not sure if it's ever been changed
My 1994 SC2 AC blows cool air, but not cold. AC clutch is working, just seems like it's low on refrigerant. Problem is, I don't know if it's ever been serviced. I suspect not, and if this has R12 I guess I cant mix in R134? Or was R134 in the 1994 Saturns? The manual just says check with the dealer.
Ah, this chart says they switched to R134a in 1994, so I guess I could recharge it. Can anyone confirm? Thanks, and hi again (was here months ago) ;)https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sat...c9279de138.png |
Got it solved. Found a sticker under the hood that says it's R-134A. Picked up a can of A/C Pro and charged it up, and it's blowing cold now. That was easy! Actually when I hooked it up it showed just in the green zone around 28 psi, but I filled it until it got to about 42 psi and was blowing cold (50 psi is max in the green zone). Took about the entire can, and supposedly the A/C Pro helps stop leaks. We'll see...
