Hello all I'm replacing the shifter cables on my brothers 98 SC2 . He had someone start the job and for what ever reason he gave up on the guy and ask me to take a look at it for him. So, I have the new cable in place and I have two questions. 1. On the end near the shift stick , one of the cables has a cable end that has a ball and socket type of fitting. Is there a trick to snapping this end onto the ball? Can I just apply pressure to the back of the cable end and force the ball into the socket? Or do I need to remove something. I just dont want to break the new cable , which is why it is being replaced to begin with. 2. On the other end of the cable (under the hood) both of the cable ends were already disconnected once I was brought into the picture. So I'm not sure which cable connects to which point on the tranny. Does any one have a picture of the area or can they tell me which cable connects to each bracket? or is there a drawing someone on this forum? Thanks for the help RickEdited by: sw2cam |
