It is fixed

Well, after replacing the ECTS and connector, my car actually idles around 900 rpms. It also runs better and shifts great. When I removed the old ECTS, I discovered that it was indeed the brass tipped one, so I guess I'll just keep it. I don't think I actually had to replace it, but the damned connector to it was cracked and not making full contact. I had already spliced the new one in before I discovered this. But anyway, for $51.00, I'm fixed and happy with it for now. Next thing will be to get two new speakers for the rear and I'll be done screwing with it for a while. So, if any of you guys are experiencing a funky shifting transmission, check your ECTS and connector before replacing your valve body. I may have done that for nothing except for pissing away $110.

Just found this Rube. Is this the latest news? The car is running without and lights?

The infamous ECTS system strikes again ...

Nope, it's like an every other day thing now. One day it runs great from the get go and the next day after about 5 minutes driving the SES light comes on and it shifts like crap. I can park it for fifteen minutes, crank it back up and drive it the rest of the day with no problems. I can't figure it out and am giving up on the damn thing. I'll just drive it like it is until it dies.

Very odd man, do let let us know whats up if you decide to keep trying.

Car's been doing great for the past 6 days now. I haven't done anything else to it except drive it. I did do a continuity test on the old valve body and some of it is defective. I may take it apart just for the heck of it and see if I can figure out which solenoid is bad. Got other more pressing projects to take care of first.
