drivers side door power mirror
any way to remove these mirrors from the housing??
my drivers side door mirror been broken near the top(on the inside, the frame that holds the mirror )since i bought it . i initially pulled it far enough out to get a little epoxy on the frame and secure the mirror a little better ,but its still kinda floppy and vibes alot compared to a good working one . if i could get the whole thing out the housing i could repair it .is there a way? |
As long as the glass is broken. Remove the glass and you'll see how it's mounted. I did one years ago and it seems to me it mounted via three balls and sockets. The type where you pop the ball into the socket.

yeah the glass is good .i believe the top ball was broken and thats what made it loose .would love to repair it better .

you MIGHT still be able to get just the replacement glass from GM dealer but it will only mount to the the original stock housing. IF you buy an aftermarket replacement, the ball and socket positioning is NOT the same so an OEM mirror will NOT fit the aftermarket housing.
Plus you WILL break the aftermarket mirror trying to get it out -- super thin and snaps like a cracker. I speak from experience |
If you want I can go search the garage and see if I have a mirror for the car. It would be the entire assem as I don't think I have any mirror parts left.
What year are we talking about? Thats why it's good to put a little info in your signature. Like first name, state, yr and model. |
