Default Ceiling Light plastic mount

Some of the tabs on the plastic mount of my 01 SC2 are broken - so the thing is almost impossible to keep up in the ceiling. Previous owner put some paper clip in it to try and resolve. Anyone have a solution that works?

1996-2002 will fit it.

New and used on ebay.
Be sure to ask about tabs if you buy used

If you still can reach the backing plate above the roof liner, you can ziptie the dome light to the ceiling and it won't go anywhere. I would recommend changing out the light bulb before you (permanently) replace the dome light to the roof.

I tried adhesive velcro strips, and they didn't stick.

thanks - great ideas. Couldn't find my normal zipties - so I tried the velco dots. Sticking so far....

Zipties -- interesting trick....you learn something every day. I've actually never seen one pulled down so I have no clue how to reattach it. Nice one, Dave. saves some coin

This video by our good friend Richpin on YouTube will give you some ideas. I found the Velcro to lose its stickiness over time due to heat or vibration. I recommend zip tying the housing to the backing plate behind the headliner as seen in this vid.

Gotta love Richpin. Dude is great. I've used several of his videos for help over the past several years. And his accent cracks me up, seeing as how I'm a Southern hillbilly.
