Air in coolant resevior
Yesterday, I opened my coolant bottle while the engine was running, and noticed that I had air "burbling" from the coolant inside. When I turned the engine off, the burbling stopped.
Its a 97 SC2 / DOHC.
I''m hoping its normal, like an air pocket somewhere.
Please....not a blown head gasket.
When I start-off in the morning and the engine is cold, I can hear the coolant flowing through the heater core, which makes me think its an air pocket. Is there somewhere to bleed-off the air?
Thanks.....Edited by: camaronut

Well, the system is designed such that the line from the radiator to the coolant bottle is the highest point in the system, so any air would ultimately go to that point, and get bled out into the coolant bottle. If you are still getting ''burbling'' after a couple of days of driving, I would be concerned about checking carefully for a gasket issue (bad) or possibly a head failure (even worse). Good luck ....
