i have a 1996 sc1 standard trans my e-brake broke.if your driving slow and pull it you can feel it grab but it just wont lock (the button and assembly popped out) do i need a new ebrake handle or can fix the existing one?Edited by: lilblaster

 

I would go around to the local u-pull-it yards, locate a working replacement, and change it out entirely (personal opinion here) ...

 

change the whole thing or just the handle part?

 

Again, my opinion only, I would replace the assembly. It is surprising just how much force one can generate on a lever arm like that ...
