I just traded for my first Saturn last week, trans went out on my wife out of the blue!! It seemed to pop into reverse a bit but otherwise had impressive shifting. I have heard that some sort of pin on the input shaft is prone to break, maybe what has happened? It quit violently at highway speed, dumped all fluid. I plan to try and locate another used trans, but am concerned if this is as commom as I am hearing. Any advise ot info would be great!! < src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" =text/> </> < =text/> _uacct = "UA-939292-47"; urchinTracker(); </> |
If you end up finding a used transmission and have the ability, disassemble the transmission and have the differential pin welded in place. That will prevent this from happening.
